Similar to the Primary and Secondary Care course but covers treating of Children and infants. Optional Skill of AED on Children over the age of 1 can also be taken.
If you work with children EG Day Care or nursery you are required to complete the 12 hour course. Details of this course can be found by clicking here.
The 6-8 hour course is aimed at people who deal with children on a daily basis (EG Parents, Grand Parents or siblings) as the CPR skill for instance between Infants, Children and Adults are different.
At the end of this course you will receive certification which lasts for upto 24 Months from an internationally recognised Diver training Agency (PADI). Classes are teached to ILCOR standards. You will learn the following skills : -
Scene Assessment & Barrier Use, Primary Assessment, Child CPR, Infant CPR, Serious Bleeding, Shock Management, Spinal Injuries – Choking Child, Choking Infant, Injury Assesment, Bandaging, Illness Assessment.
You will be taught as a lay person these skills and will receive a recognised certification showing that you completed the course.
Classes are small (max 4 students) to give you more time with your instructor. Classes are in a comfortable environment and will run for about 6 – 8 hours over 2 evenings or one weekend day.
An Optional Skill of AED Use on Children over the age of One may be added to the course as an additional bolt on extra.
